Terms of Service
Last updated: May 14, 2026
Acceptance
By uploading a video to EngineCheck or paying for a report, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
What EngineCheck is — and isn't
EngineCheck is an AI-powered second-opinion tool designed to flag possible audible concerns in a vehicle's engine based on a short video. It is not a mechanical diagnosis, a certified inspection, or a substitute for evaluation by a licensed automotive technician. Every report ends with a recommendation to obtain a pre-purchase inspection from a qualified mechanic. You agree that you understand this distinction.
No warranty of accuracy
AI analysis of phone-captured audio has inherent limits — recording quality, ambient noise, recording angle, and engine state all affect what can be heard. EngineCheck makes no guarantee that any specific issue will be detected or that flagged issues actually exist. You assume all risk associated with relying on the report. Always verify findings with a licensed mechanic before purchasing a vehicle.
Pricing and payments
The full engine report is sold as a one-time digital purchase at the price displayed at checkout, currently CA$14.99 or US$14.99 depending on your billing region. Payments are processed by Stripe. Promotional codes, when valid, apply at checkout.
Refund policy
If a report fails to deliver value to you for any reason, reply to the report email within 14 days of receipt and we will issue a full refund — no questions, no friction. Refunds are returned to the original payment method and typically arrive within 5–10 business days.
Acceptable use
You agree to upload only videos you have the right to use, to provide truthful vehicle information, and to use the service only to make personal vehicle-purchasing decisions. You may not upload illegal content, attempt to reverse-engineer the service, or resell reports without written permission.
Service availability
We aim for high availability but the service is provided on an "as is" basis. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time. If a report cannot be delivered due to technical issues, you are entitled to a full refund.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, EngineCheck's total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of the service is limited to the amount you paid for the report in question. EngineCheck is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages — including any losses related to a vehicle you purchase or do not purchase based on the report.
Intellectual property
The EngineCheck name, logo, copy, and software are the property of the operator. The report content delivered to you may be used freely for your own purchasing decisions and may be shared with mechanics or dealers, but may not be republished commercially.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia, Canada. Any dispute will be resolved in the courts of British Columbia, unless local consumer-protection law grants you a different forum.
Changes
We may update these terms. Material changes will be reflected by an updated date at the top of this page. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
