This is a second opinion — not a replacement for a mechanic.
EngineCheck is a fast pre-screening tool. Our analysis is based on submitted audio, video frames, and the details you provide. It is not a certified mechanical diagnosis. Before purchasing any used vehicle we strongly recommend a pre-purchase inspection by a licensed mechanic. Every report ends with a verification checklist designed exactly for that conversation.
Common questions.
How accurate is the AI?
Engine sound analysis from a phone video has real limits. We design the report to be conservative — flagging possibilities, not diagnosing. Every report ends with a checklist to verify with a licensed mechanic. Treat it as a fast first filter, not a final answer.
What kind of video should I upload?
30–60 seconds, recorded from the engine bay or close to the front of the car with the hood open. Cold start is most useful. Make sure the audio is clear — minimize background noise where possible.
How long does the report take?
Most reports are generated and emailed within a few minutes of payment. If we hit unusual traffic we'll notify you — you always get a report, or your money back.
Can I use this for any car?
Yes — any internal-combustion used car. EVs are not supported (different fault signatures). Hybrids work for the ICE side only.
Refund policy?
If the report didn't help, just reply to your report email within 14 days and we'll refund you, no questions.
